Boarding

Our custom made, luxurious, indoor kennels are completely waterproof and range in size from 20-25 square feet. Each dog(s) is placed in their own, fully cleaned and sanitized kennel. Family dogs may board together in the same kennel if adequate space is allotted for each dog and they are able to eat on the same schedule. Every kennel is furnished with blankets/bedding and food/water bowls. Kennel placements are based upon each dog’s individual needs to ensure a safe and comfortable environment where they can sleep, eat and rest. Playtime is included in boarding rates. Dogs are let out frequently and group or individual playtime is offered during each let out. 

Current vaccinations are required to participate in boarding/daycare services. Adult dogs must have Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. Puppies must have Rabies, Bordetella and complete the DHPP series. Canine Influenza is highly recommended. Vaccines must be administered 72 hours prior to boarding. The Dog House Retreat will need record of your dog’s vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian prior to boarding/daycare. Self administered vaccines are not accepted. Vaccinations must remain current until the end of your dog’s stay. Vaccination records should be emailed to thedoghouseretreat@gmail.com.

Flea/tick and heart worm preventative are highly recommended for all dogs. Dogs with fleas or ticks will not be admitted. Please refrain from visiting a dog park, boarding kennel, daycare or grooming facility within 10 days of your reservation. The Dog House Retreat will refuse any dog who does not meet boarding/daycare requirements. In some cases, as deemed necessary by The Dog House Retreat, a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian may be required for dogs with serious health concerns. We cannot accept dogs on insulin or dogs that experience seizures. 

Medication is administered free of charge. We want every dog to remain healthy and comfortable during their stay. Per licensing requirements, medication MUST be packaged in the original bottle with label. All cream, ointment, sprays etc., must also be in the original packaging with label.

The Dog House Retreat accepts all dogs regardless of spay/neuter status. We want you to have the opportunity to follow your veterinarian‘s recommendations for spay/neuter based on breed, size and health. Dogs that are intact will not be allowed to interact with other intact dogs of the opposite sex. We cannot accept female dogs in season.

FOOD: You must bring your own food (abruptly switching diets can cause stomach issues). Food must be packaged in a container with lid. Please bring extra food. The cost is $5 per day if enough food is not allotted for your dog’s stay.  Treats are provided unless your dog is on a special diet. Be sure to let us know if your dog has any allergies. 

BOWLS: Food and water bowls are provided in each dog’s individual kennel. Elevated feeders are available for giant breeds or upon request. 

BEDDING: Each kennel is furnished with blankets and bedding that are washed and changed regularly. Bedding brought from home must be machine washable. Please let us know if bedding is unsafe for your dog.

TOYS: Several toy options are provided during playtime. Toys or bones brought from home will be placed in your dog’s kennel during their stay. No rawhides or rope toys.

We cannot be held responsible for loss or damages to toys, bedding, bowls or other items brought from home.

Nail Trims are offered to customers while boarding. A grinder is used to provide accuracy and eliminate sharp edges.

Grooming is not available at this time. We hope to offer grooming services in the future.

During check in, we will discuss everything we need to know about your dog. The registration forms for new customers can be downloaded in advance under the registration section of our website or filled out upon arrival. For existing customers, please let us know if any changes have been made.

Upon arrival for check ins/outs, please park in the gravel lot, text 636-345-2592 to let us know you have arrived and a staff member will greet you. Our property is locked and secured at all times to ensure the safety and security of every dog on the premises. Please note which time slot you will be using for checking in and out when scheduling your reservation. DOGS MUST BE LEASHED when entering and exiting the premises.

All boarding and daycare reservations must be scheduled in advance during business hours. Walk-ins are not accepted. When booking your reservation, select which time slots you will be utilizing for checking in and out. Late arrivals must wait until the next available time slot. There are no after-hour pick up or drop off options. 

Monday - Friday:  9am - 11am & 4pm - 6pm

Saturday:  9am - 11am (NO PM HOURS)

Sunday:  10am - Noon & 4pm - 6pm

Payments are accepted via cash, credit card or Venmo. Boarding, daycare and any additional costs must be paid on or before check out.
